Yacht found in dark after flare fired

A yacht has been found in the dark in Queensland, Australia, after firing a flare.
One February evening, the Noosa Coast Guard was called after a yacht with engine problems issued a Mayday off Teewah Beach, as it was struggling in strong winds.
The yacht sent up a flare in the darkness and with the help of a search and rescue helicopter, it was found.
The vessel was towed clear of the shore to reduce the effects of high waves, but the lone yachtsman on board was unable to fully drop the sails due to fatigue and the conditions. This made the hook-up challenging and resulted in a five-hour tow.
