Wescom Group’s offer a wide range of solutions for the Emergency Services community. Our pyrotechnic business has been developing and supplying distress signaling solutions for the search and rescue community for over 150 years, with the Pains Wessex and Comet brands being synonymous with SOLAS marine safety regulations and are a core part of staff training, crew equipment in operational deployment and as recommended equipment for boat users with numerous rescue organisations including the UK’s RNLI.
Our Eflare perimeter safety light’s innovative designs offer a robust range of hazard warning lights, with multiple colour and activation options, which have made them invaluable for traffic police road safety operations, while the intrinsically safe electronics offer firefighters light beacons that can be quickly activated in a wide range of environments. The dynamic deployment options mean the lights can also be used in rail, road, and aviation, having supported Australia’s air ambulance in establishing temporary runways.

As well as manufacturing and logistical knowledge Wescom Group has expanded expertise to include global pharmaceutical sourcing and distribution, allowing the ANP Pharma brand to create bespoke medical kits for paramedics, while new capabilities in long life emergency rations can be used in marine rescue equipment and civil disaster response.
The award-winning sMRT brand has 45 years’ experience in distress signal electronics, offering water activation, multiple alerting and tracking technologies both for the person in water and recover teams sent to their rescue. The sMRT range of beacons and tracking solutions have supported commercial marine, offshore energy and helicopter transfer customers and offers a proven solution for rescue services.
Alongside our signal and screening pyrotechnics, used by the UK Police and many other organisations worldwide, Wescom Defence also offers detection kits for explosives and nerve agents. These detectors can identify all current nerve agents, as well as any that may emerge in the future.
