Taking steps to combat counterfeit products

With reported incidents of suspect pyros increasing around the world, we have created a form on our websites so users can check if their Comet products are genuine.
Product and Customer Service Manager, Keith Bradford says, “It is an unfortunate fact that there are counterfeit, re-dated or otherwise suspicious pyrotechnics in circulation. These can be unreliable, dangerous or simply fail to work when you need them, so it is important to make sure that your pyrotechnics are genuine and in-date.
“We have therefore set up an online form on our websites, so if anyone has any suspicion that they’ve encountered either re-dated or counterfeit flares, they can put the information into the form, add images and we can verify if they are genuine or not.”
Customers just have to enter their contact details, the manufacturer and expiry date of the pyro and a lot number on the forms, which are on the Comet and Pains Wessex websites. Adding a picture is helpful.
Once details are submitted, WesCom Signal & Rescue reviews them manually and replies using the email address provided.
