Stranded fisherman rescued in Barbados

After being stranded at sea for three days, a fisherman fired flares and was rescued.
Shawn McClean’s boat ran out of gas after he left Six Men’s, St Peter, in Barbados. He was on a fishing trip one day in November.
He was down to his last flare when he was rescued after a joint operation by the Barbados Defence Force and the Regional Security System (RSS).
His wife raised the alarm when Mr McClean was late back in his fishing boat M240 BIZZARDTYNE. The police then contacted the Barbados Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard Operation Centre received information about a vessel 23 nautical miles off Speightstown, St Peter and mounted a search and rescue operation with assistance from the RSS.
After being found and rescued, Mr McClean he was seen by medics.
