Question: What is your role at Wescom and how long have you worked for the group?

Answer: My role is Business Development and Sales Director. I have been working for the group since 1 January 2002.

Question:
What have been the biggest changes since you began?

Answer: The biggest one was probably when Pains Wessex and Comet became part of the same group. Also, the increasing amount of automation within our production. Last, but not least, the current pandemic has changed a lot of ways of working internally as well as externally.

Question: What are your main goals?

Answer: My major goal is to continue sustainably growing the company and keeping it successful. Maintaining the close and trustworthy relationships with our distributors and contacts globally is also one of my core objectives.

Question: What are the best things about working at Wescom?

Answer: Although being part of a truly international companythere is an excellent team spirit within Wescom. I am also proud to work for a global market leader, which manufactures special, partly unique technical products. It has also been important to work for a company that provides the opportunity to personally develop, learn and gain responsibility.

Question: What issues are most pressing in the sector?

Answer: I think that new legislation, restrictions and regulations have become key challenges concerning the manufacture, transport, storage and disposal of Dangerous Goods Class 1.

Question: How has your interaction with distributors changed during COVID?

Answer: I am glad that we have modern technology and infrastructure within our company. Video-Conferencing programs are pretty efficient to stay in contact and discuss current topics. However, I am missing the “real-life” interaction with our distributors -  be it during a visit or an exhibition.

Question: What are your interests and hobbies outside of work?

Answer: As most people know I am a sports “maniac”. From playing Handball and Rugby earlier I have changed to being a Handball-Referee and proud father/fan of two Handball-playing kids. Additionally, I quite enjoy all kind of endurance sports. Travelling, especially to my Norwegian In-Law Family, is also one of my favourite interests.

Question: Is there anything else you would like to add?

Answer: I am optimistic that at one point we will all come out of the Pandemic and I am really looking forward to meeting all our distributors and customers again in person.
