RIB rescued after flare fired
15/10/2021
RNLI crew from Shoreham came to the rescue of two people on a broken Rigid Inflatable Boat during a busy September weekend with four call outs.
Both the all-weather and inshore lifeboats were launched after a red flare was spotted off Worthing. It was seen by the all-weather lifeboat crew and the two anglers on board were located and picked up.
The RIB broke down after the pair was fishing off Worthing Pier. The lifeboat crew took the boat and crew safely ashore at West Worthing.
The crews carried out three more rescues during the weekend and carried out a training exercise.
