Japan PW distributor for more than 50 years

For more than 50 years, K and K Co Ltd. and its predecessor Showa Kako Co., Ltd. has been the Pains Wessex distributor in Japan.
K and K, which was founded in 1997, is based in Tokyo. It specialises in marine flares and other safety equipment plus fire prevention products.
Kinyah Katoh says the Pains Wessex brand is influential in the marine pyrotechnics industry. “The relationship with WesCom is the most important for us in our marine market. Since we are a PW distributor, it is trusted by marine manufacturers in other countries, new transactions proceed smoothly, and we also do business with PW distributors in each country.”
Demand for marine pyrotechnics has been affected by declines in new Japan shipbuilding and increasing transportation costs, says Kinyah Katoh.
The secret of the success of the longstanding business is patience, he concludes.
