Two fishermen, who spotted a liferaft and flare off Vancouver Island, Canada, have received lifesaving awards.
Ryan and John Planes were presented with Silver Medals for Merit from the Lifesaving Society in early March.
The crew of five on the Ocean Sunset found the mariner who had been adrift at sea for almost two weeks. The man, from the U.S. fishing vessel Evening, was rescued and taken to the hospital in Tofino by the Canadian Coast Guard.
