Disabled boat crew fires flare
27/06/2019
When their boat failed in North Carolina, USA, the occupants sent up an emergency flare for help.

The three adults and child aboard a 26-foot Cuddy Cabin fired the flare after all the electronics failed and the boat became disabled.
The crew of a boat Smoker told US Coast Guards at Station Oregon Inlet, Nags Head, North Carolina, they had seen the flare, 12 nautical miles east of Oregon Inlet.
It volunteered to tow the boat to bring it closer to shore and the Cuddy Cabin was transferred to the Coast Guard boat when it arrived and was taken back to shore.
No-one was reported hurt.
