Comet Orange Handsmoke reclassification improves shipping

The Comet Orange Handsmoke has been reclassified to a lower hazard category, making it easier to ship. Its rating has been changed from 1.4G to 1.4S UN 0507 Signals, Smoke, with no changes in how it is packed. 50 signals are packed into each fibreboard box.
The change has come about following cost control innovations in our designs that we have been introducing across the range and to promote consistency where possible, as our other orange distress smoke signals (the 3-minute Lifesmoke and 15-minute Manoverboard Lifebuoy markers) are classed as 1.4S.
The Orange Handsmoke is a hand-held marine distress signal for daytime use to indicate position and wind direction. It produces dense orange smoke for 60 seconds. It is ideal for use on yachts, dinghies, RIBs and canoes and is included in our Inshore and Coastal kits.
